The Faculty of Engineering, which was one of the first faculties to be established in Erciyes University, began academic programs on 1st March, 1977 with the Departments of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering. The Faculty of Engineering is composed of fourteen departments. In addition to the Department of Mechanical and Electrical-Electronic Engineering, the following departments were also established: Civil and Industrial Engineering in 1991, Computer and Geomatics Engineering in 1995, Textile Engineering in 1996, Environmental and Food Engineering in 1998, Mechatronic Engineering and Materials Science Engineering in 2005, Biomedical Engineering in 2007, Energy Systems Engineering in 2009, and Industrial Design Engineering in 2010. The faculty also started evening classes are the beginning of the 1992-1993 academic year in the Department of Mechanical and Electrical-Electronic Engineering, in 2003-2004 in the Department of Civil Engineering, and in 2009-2010 in the Department of Industrial and Computer Engineering. In our faculty, double-major and subspecialty education programs have been implemented. In Mechanical and Computer Engineering departments of the faculty, one-year compulsory English preparatory classes are available. Other departments have voluntary English preparatory classes.

The academic staff consists of 63 professors, 42 associate professors, 61 assistant professors. 11 lecturers, and 80 research assistants. With an advanced infrastructure and facilities, Erciyes University Faculty of Engineering has been successful in many national and international projects and studies. According to data from YOK, in the last five years our faculty has been included in the top ten engineering faculties of all state universities, with respect to the number of publications per faculty member.
